 CSX-Sucks.com, SUCKS!
« Thread Started on Jan 22, 2008, 6:47pm »

What is CSX-sucks.com? It is a disgruntled employee-created website aiming to attract negative attention from the President, CEO and staff of CSX. This website uses many photos of derailment or otherwise destructive train events, and 90% of the time, claims that the photos were taken on or of CSX property, even though they have no proof to back up their statements. I can find at least 50 photoshopped or non-CSX photos on there, that are being claimed to be real CSX photos.

Also on this website, it is said that all other Class I railroad organizations, along with several remote railroad related companies, have viewed this website and supported it. If you think about it, it truly sounds absurd. Why would any management of Norfolk Southern, for example, be wasting time on a feeble website aimed at their competitor? It is foolish.

Court cases and many other court and lawsuit-related events, that are also not true, are displayed on this website. This website claims to have beaten CSX is many trial cases, and also claims that they have signed an agreement with CSX, allowing this website to display images of CSX property in damage, etc. This is NOT the case, as CSX management has been trying to have this website eliminated for a couple years now due to the mere fact that they are using false and fake images of damaged CSX property.

There are numerous photos on this website that include CSX locomotives damaged, destroyed, battered and bruised, that happened while the locomotive was on another railroad's property. Just because the locomotive is owned by CSX, they think that this gives them the right to post the photo.

Truth of the matter is, all railroads have pros and cons. Railroads don't do whatever railfans want, and don't always please consumers, customers or the general public. Everyone has their own opinion, and no matter what choice CSX makes, someone out there will say it was a bad choice. CSX spent $203 million in track repairs, replaced over 50,000 concrete ties and spent $279 million on tie repairs in 2005. This is about equal to the amount of money Norfolk Southern, their competitor, spent on track repair in 2005. CSX even spent more money in other MofW categories.

CSX is hauling freight daily. Many people hide behind the "you haven't worked for them" or "CSX has negative experiences more than other railroads" statements. These statements are only true in some instances. All other railroads have had an equal amount or maybe even worse problems in their pasts too, CSX is just the unfortunate one who gets the most ignorant remarks.

Alot of people also say that CSX does not spend enough money on track repairs, as mentioned earlier. CSX did not come in with the lowest amount of track repair in 2005 and 2006. The railroad with the most amount of track repair happened to be Kansas City Southern, who invested $103 million in 2005 on track repair. CSX, as stated, spent $203 million on track repair this same year. People say CSX makes bad moves on motive power. Everyone stands behind the "EMD SD40-2 life span" when told that the new GE units are what the high demand is.

It is the 21st century, and technology has advanced. Many act as though the 1960-built EMD SD40 unit is still high-tech, brand new machinery. Many SD40-2 units have over a million miles under their belts, and are starting to wear out or become less operator-friendly. The GE Evolution Series, though high on the list of annoying, repetitive locomotives, is what is new and is what has been hauling good with minor repairs for the past 2-3 years. An EMD SD40-2 has 3,000 horsepower and can only hold between 4,000 and 4,500 gallons of US diesel fuel. The new GE units can hold 5,000 gallons of US diesel fuel. They are more environmentally friendly, are more fuel efficient and perform just as well.

If I had to voice my opinion, I say CSX is doing well in today's demanding consumer economy. Alot of people talk down on CSX behind their computers, but if put in position to operate a railroad with 20-30,000 miles of trackage that has near 3-4,000 locomotives and several thousand major customers, they too, would have a hard time with the same exact problems!

Here is the link to CSX-sucks.com:

This website also takes negative experiences that have happened over the course of years, and compresses them to make them seem like a daily occurrence on CSX. Don't let this illusion fool you either!

Its BS really I don't like the site either. Other companies have their haters too. NS has the nickname "Nazi Southern" which is probably written in Sharpie somewhere on the system's locomotives. Who wrote it? Probably their own employees.

This site is like trains.com who has abuch of (bungholioes). You are going to have your people that say Conrail was the best(YEAH RIGHT) and put all this stuff about Conrail which I could care less about. Then you are going to have your people that LOVE the C&NW, but hate the 8646 and 8701 and call them a piece of (poo). That does not make any sence at all its like whiping before you poo it doesn't make any dag gum sence. Basically its going to happen everywhere you go.

I believe I know which individual you are referring to in terms of the CNW comment. Conrail was an alright railroad - to me, considering I grew up with it. But hey, times change, the locomotives are still existent, the railroad actually still exists in Detroit and New Jersey and I accepted CSX and NS as the new operational railroads. CSX is a good railroad, along with NS. My previous post is just my outlook on this situation. I believe it is true! :)

I thought the person that ran this site was a disgruntled woman, because her husband pulled out in front of a CSX train and got killed?

BTW, notice the quicktime player on this board, please remove, its caused my internet to crash 3 times in 5 minutes today alone.

I'll leave that one to Jeff. It is a little annoying, as it slows down my internet connection slightly, and also makes my page automatically scroll back to the top once or twice before I can scroll down permanently.

Barry, I have no idea, I have heard from tons and tons of people it is a disgruntled employee using a fake identity as a depressed woman. I personally see right through it. Just an average every-day woman would not know enough about CSX to be able to create a entire website dedicated to it and it's negativities.

Just my two pennies.

See, the thing you need to learn about CSX-sucks.com is that they are deceiving and also have alot of illusions. They may seem one way, but are truly the other way. They are fairly believable too. I know how some of this stuff is just manure being spread because I know two employees who work for CSX. CSX-sucks lays the manure down so thick sometimes, boots are required. :)

By the way Jeff, keep a hold of that CSX audio. I may actually use that audio in a Youtube video I make. It sounds awesome!

Thanks Jeff! Yay I can read this bored without my internet crashing! :)

You notice on the picture of the CSX headon collision, its photoshopped. http://www.csx-sucks.com/images/pic/al_head_on.jpg <<Photoshopped because you notice the AC44 has no damage at all, but the unit in front has a huge smack on the front.

This is true, Barry, along with most of their other photos - they're fake too. That AC4400CW would at least lose the front handrails in the event of an impact, but they are in perfect tact in that photo.

Well how did it hit the 401 without the 401 getting ANY damage at all? The 401 in that pic has absolutely NO damage at all!

Yes, maybe something else hit the 5810. Someone probably shot 5810 at the exact same location as the one linked to above, and also got a photo of CSXT 401 and a maintenance truck, got a generic photo of railroad tracks, put all of them together via photoshop, and made the outcome that is on CSX-sucks. 401 has NO damage like Barry said. Not even a scratch.

Yeah because I don't think AC44s are built to ram other locomotives and continue on without any sort of scratch or bent hand rail. :-/
